In accordance with Federal Law and U.S. Dept of Agriculture policy, this institution is prohibited from discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
The Haskell Free Library & Opera House is not a border crossing. The one entrance is located in the United States. To access the building, Canadian visitors must park on the Canadian side and follow the sidewalk from Church Street to the entrance. Once they leave the building, they must return to Canada by the same route. As the only entrance to the Haskell Free Library & Opera House is located in the US, all non-American visitors passing through US territory to enter the library must understand that their movement will be monitored by the US Border Patrol and the RCMP. Passports and visas are not necessary to enter the Haskell Free Library & Opera House. However, please be aware that both the US Border Patrol and the RCMP have the right to ask to see personal identification and detain anyone who is not of legal status. We do encourage you to bring your papers with you, just in case. |

A Few Rules
While inside the Haskell Free Library & Opera House, all visitors must abide by the laws of the USA and Canada.
It is prohibited for people from the US side to cross the sidewalk that leads to the Canadian side. It is mandatory to go through the customs to cross the Canadian border.
The exchange of goods is not permitted. Any goods to be exchanged must be taken to the Customs office to be processed.
Food and beverages are not allowed inside the building.
Any person or group of persons who disregard these rules, or otherwise disrupt our services, will be asked to leave.

RULES :
GENERAL INFORMATION :
- For safety reasons, all visitors to the Opera House must be accompanied by a member of staff.
- NO BAGS are allowed during the tours. You have to leave bags at the front desk or outside the library.
- If for any reason, you can’t make it to your tour, please contact us to let us know.
- Tours are not meant for family reunions or any other cross-border meeting.
- The guide can make anyone leave the tour at anytime without refund if they are not listening, disturbing, wandering or disrespectful.
GENERAL INFORMATION :
- The fee for a guided tour is $10 per adult and free for children under 12 years of age.
- The duration of the tour is approximately 30 minutes.
- Tours may be unavailable on the day of a performance.
- We require reservations for large tour groups (more than 10 people).
- We recommend making a reservation to ensure tour availability.

Parking
Visitors from Canada must park on the Canadian side of the border or report to U.S. Customs. There is street parking on Church Street, and there is a municipal parking lot on Phelps Street.
Visitors from the U.S. may park in the Haskell parking lot on Caswell Avenue. There is also parking available on Main Street, Baxter Avenue, and Pelow Hill, or in the parking lots of The Community National Bank and Border Health Center.
