A Theater Technician plays a crucial role in managing the technical components of live theater performances, such as lighting, sound, and rigging. They collaborate closely with directors, designers, and performers to guarantee that all technical elements are implemented seamlessly and safely.

- Ensure that all technical equipment is properly maintained and functioning before and during shows.
- Collaborate closely with directors, stage managers, and designers to bring the artistic vision of the production to life.
- Communicate effectively with the cast and crew to coordinate technical cues and adjustments during performances.
- Ensure a safe and functional stage environment for performers.
- Swiftly address and resolve any technical issues that arise during rehearsals and performances.
- Monitor and adjust technical elements in real-time to provide a seamless experience for the audience.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols to maintain a secure working environment for all personnel.
- Keep an inventory of technical equipment and supplies.
- Be available to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the production schedule.
Qualifications:
- College or University degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience with a range of technical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and capacity to perform well under pressure.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaborating with diverse production teams.
- Physical Requirements: This position may necessitate physical stamina to operate machinery and work at elevated heights.
- Proficiency in English/French is not required but is an asset.
